New images of Asteroid Lutetia is spurring new ideas about its formation and structure. Researchers suggest that this asteroid may have a molten-hot core, which could mean the asteroid is leftover from the planetary formation process.

Asteroid Lutetia is one of millions of rocks in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. From the researcher’s measurements, Lutetia is unusually dense and its surface appears to be porous, suggesting a molten-hot core. In addition, the researchers observed a distorted gravitational field when flying by Lutetia. The researchers calculated the asteroid could weigh as much as 1.8 million tons, based off its distortion.

The European Space Agency spacecraft is called Rosetta, and this past July, it flew by Asteroid Lutetia. During its pass by, the spacecraft was able to collect about the asteroid’s composition and internal structure.

The Rosetta’s mission is to encounter Comet Churyumov–Gerasimenko in 2014. his journey is estimated to be 2.5 years, and in the meantime, the spacecraft has its systems shut down and communication in hibernation.

If this new data does not fit the cosmological scientific model, why not review the model? Why a molten-hot core needs to be produced only in planetary formation process? As said by Mr. Mike
Miller above, if it had a molten core, Lutetia would have frozen solid very early on.

There are other cosmological models, against which there are no scientific data. For instance, The Universal
Matrix/DNA of Natural Systems point out another source for comets and meteorites
with molten-hot core: magma from volcanoes of giant planets becoming pulsars. Maybe
Jupiter or a neighbor interstellar body could be the origin of this meteorite.
Or it could be the result of fragmentation of comets.
